WHITE GUAVA PULP

Though the guava fruit’s origin is Central America and Mexico, it is being cultivated throughout the world in various countries.

In India, this fruit is primarily cultivated in Southern status of Andhra, Tamilnadu and Karnataka. This fruit is also primarily cultivated in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The guava is a tropical fruit, which is considered one of the super fruits as it contains rich base of health properties. A single guava contains four times the amount of vitamin C as that in an orange. It’s delicious juice is widely appreciated for its vitamins and also contains considerable amount of pectin.

 

Application of pulp and Concentrate

The pulp is obtained by commercial processing of sound, ripened Guava and then passed through a 0.7 mm sieve. Guava pulp concentrate is obtained by evaporating water from guava pulp under vacuum. Some of the uses of this pulp is as follow,

  • Yoghurt
